Description

This particular instrument is very inspired by Torres - although not a reproduction per se, it has elements found in various Torres instruments both structurally and aesthetically - particularly in the elegant and slightly understated style of Torres in his second-epoch, with elegant yet simple banded purfling, a classic rosette with herringbone on green in the central area normally reserved for mosaics, MOP inlays in the bridge and a rounded heelcap. Perry's craftsmanship is clean and perfectly executed, making this a very charming guitar to behold. Sound is lush, warm and loose - akin to a great Torres that has been well-played and aged. Even when new, Perry's guitars are known to have a an older, played-in, "antique" quality to the sound, and with nearly a decade and half of regular use, this guitar has plenty of old-world charm. Impressive volume and great balance round this instrument off as a very desirable example of this great maker's work.
